The microwave oven is usually a go-to cooking tool in most busy households.
Some sectors however are warning against its constant use. In its website, The Mind Unleashed.Org shared 12 reasons why microwaves should never be used.
“Most animals will only consume food in its natural, unprocessed state, but humans actually go out of their way to render food nutritionally worthless before eating it; and the use of microwaves is no exception. Think about all the prepackaged and processed foods we purchase and consume annually. It’s no wonder the state of our health is in dire straits. Not only has microwave use been linked to causing infertility in men, but it also denatures many of the essential proteins in the food making them virtually indigestible.”

Well, that quick fix could lead to a slew of health problems, according to a new study. Nuking your food in a Tupperware container unleashes a slew of toxic chemicals into the food, some of which cause insulin resistance and high blood pressure, two factors in diabetes”

“Microwave ovens have metal shields (and metal screens over the window) that prevent the radiation from leaving the oven, so there shouldn’t be any risk of harm. Given that microwaves are a relatively minor source of radiation, compared to things like cell phones, then I don’t believe this is a good argument against using them. Just to be on the safe side, don’t press your face against the window and keep your head at least a foot (30 cm) away from the oven. Radiation decreases rapidly with distance. Also, make sure that your microwave oven is in good repair. If it looks old or broken, or if the door doesn’t close properly, then consider getting a new one.”
